The surge protection devices of the DLAWTS series protect I&C, telecommunication and data technology systems against lightning effects and overvoltages. These surge protectors have been developed for the protection of one twin wire and can be used for all applications with voltages from 6 V to max. 170 V and transmission rates up to 10 Mbps. The electrical circuitry of the DLAS consists of a combination of high-performance gas discharge tubes and fast-switching diodes for high discharge capacity and fast response. The shield connection is additionally earthed via a gas discharge tube. Earthing is simply done via the top-hat rail. When the plug-in module is disconnected, the transmission signal is interrupted. Error signalling is via a visual display and remote signalling.
